| ICFF NY Design Week is here and we’re pumped. We’re really excited to go to the ever amazing NoHo Design District and check out all the design and special events going on. Last year was awesome and this year, we’re sure Bond St, Great Jones St and Bowery will be filled with nothing but the best design. But what we are most excited about is our long awaited opening of The SHOP by MySuites. Yes, it’s been already up online, but we are finally setting up shop for all the amazing design pieces we get from the best upcoming local designers–NYC and Brooklyn. Some of the pieces in The SHOP are also in the suites for our guests to buy as part of our Take-It-Home. The opening cocktail is tomorrow, Friday May 17th from 6-8pm. We invite you all to stop by and see what’s in store. And if you can’t make it to the opening, just drop by anytime during our business hours, we’re pretty sure you don’t want to miss it. Stay tuned for a look into our opening tomorrow… |

| | Giant inflatable dog by Paul McCarthy | |
| We had such a blast at the opening day of The Frieze Art Fair on Randall’s Island this past weekend. A massive range of art was exhibited, from paintings, photography to installations, performances, and sculptures; something for the likes of everyone. Even though it’s only on its second year of life, it surely did not disappoint, it’s the best around for Pop Art. Here are some works that caught our eye…. |

| | The owner, always there to help customers | |
| Looking for the best tea shop in town? You have to go to Sullivan Street Tea and Spice Company. A very cute shop in Greenwich Village NYC with a wonderful selection of reasonably priced, quality teas. You can find hundreds of organic teas, herbs and spices from all over the world. Not to worry if you don’t know anything about the specialities, the staff behind the counter are super polite and knowledgeable and aren’t afraid to give some very good advice. An organic bulk shop that’s a great place to get your tea and to find a present for the tea aficionado among other little things like potted plants, essential oils and infused salts which decorate the shelves and give the shop a very home-y feeling. |

| Babeland, no doubt has the best hot and kinky stuff. We love their SoHo location, surprisingly warm and inviting with all the products out on display, so you can feel what you buy. Forget the old stereotype of a dark and tacky basement-like shop, at Babeland SoHo, you feel at ease. |

| |345Meatpacking, W 14th St, NYC. May 3rd – May 12th 2013| |
| If you get a chance, pop in the 345Meatpacking Gallery and see Andy Warhol’s “Lost Then Found” on display until May 12th. British photographer, Steve Wood, rediscovered the portraits of Andy Warhol that he took at a French hotel in Deauville in 1981. The portraits were not published at the time and Wood simply filed them away under W, and luckily they are now on display. |
![]() ![]() |
| The pictures show a more real Andy Warhol and there is something very special about these images. Their sudden appearance is like meeting Warhol himself, away from the crazy and glamourous New York lifestyle he led. The portraits display the real living man with his infamous pale skin and thinness. It seems that Warhol’s sunflower is a sweet homage to an art hero of that age – Vincent van Gogh. |
| All the images are available for purchase as a limited edition. |

| |Jail Break| |
| Het Arresthuis, translates into “the trial house“, a hotel that captures you behind bars in a luxury and wonderful design world. Located in the heart of Roemond. From the Van der Valk commodity line, this eclectic hotel combines old history with new modern design taken from an old prison in 1862 to a modern concept full of color and very clean décor. |
| It’s completely unbelievable how this hotel served for more than 150 years as a maximum security prison and now is transformed into a modern space with minimal details. Each room has been redone entirely except the doors which the original still stand as a tribute and special touch of the old prison that once was there. The hotel holds four luxury suites, named The Jailer, The Lawyer, The Director and The Judge; an intriguing detail that the hotel brings to the guests to follow up their original concept. |
| Don’t think about it as an old spooky prison, but as an thrilling experience. To start your next journey stay at Het Arresthuis. To know more about unique hotels with different designs stay tuned for our next choice. You will not be disappointed! |

| The cabins vary in design and some of them are geodesic domes where you will have a more direct experience with the sky and nature than in the other cabins which come with a large angled skylight and a rooftop. They have a minimalistic décor with the purpose of attracting the eye of the guest directly to the windows and where the magic really is, outside. |
| At the Elqui Domos you will observe the sky behavior from your bed and you will enjoy the tranquility and the sound of the nature. The staff is also very friendly and is willing to tell you stories about the hidden paradise that lies under the stars of Elqui Valley. For sure something to put on your bucket list! Is not only the adventure of going to a desert valley but the odyssey of the “star-show” feeling comfortable, cozy and in home with mother earth. |

| If you appreciate coffee and are willing to pay an extra dollar or two for the quality, Kaffe 1668 will not disappoint. The first location was such a success that the original founders, Swedish twins Mikael and Tomas Tjarnberg, decided to open a second location just a few blocks up from the original location. The second location is bigger than the original one but offers the same quality the original one does. |
| High quality coffee, cool music, warm vibe, and friendly staff. Not only that, but also a wide range of pastries such as the croissants and blueberry scones. What more do you need? |

| Hand-crafted gelato on a stick, it exists in the West Village at Popbar –and they are delicious! You make your own “myPop” in only simple 3 steps: first you have to choose your basic pop-bar (popGelato, popSorbetto, Yogurtpop), second step you choose your ‘poppings’ (hazelnuts, pistachios, chocolate sprinkles) and lastly, you select a signature dip (dark, milk, white chocolate). Then there’s only one thing left to do: enjoy your customized and self-made tasty treat. |
| All popbars are Kosher certified, gluten and preservative free with no artificial coloring, and the popSorbettos are lactose free and vegan. A natural, healthy and fresh gelato served in a new way: on a stick, who can resist? |

| | Linda the dog walker, Kurtz | |
| If you feel like going to a special exhibition, head over to Chelsea to the Mike Weiss Gallery and check out Will Kurtz’s exhibition Another Shit Show. It’s Kurtz’s second solo exhibition and you won’t be disappointed. Featuring about twenty dogs of different breeds, sizes, and colors made out of unlikely materials, such as newspapers, glue, wire and wood that look like the real thing. It is not surprising that he’s called the ‘Master of Anatomy’ because of his special attention to details and the use of layer upon layer technique, giving a real-life body language to the dogs. He spots with the humanity of the objects and is convinced that we are all the product of the same schizophrenic urban culture. As Kurtz says: we all claim our territory, take our desires and go out for a ‘walk’. He leaves large headlines and slogans clearly visible that function as a social commentator and time capsule. |

| Tranquility is something we always seek when we decide to go on vacations. Riva Lofts offers the perfect combination of being halfway at home and away at a “dreamily hotel”. As soon as you step through the glass door you are immediately in a different place. It is not only the design what makes Riva Lofts interesting, but also the story behind it. In 1880, it served as a small factory and was later transformed into an artisans’ workshop. Later in 1999, Claudio Nardi made it his studio and after that the lofts just evolve into “a home for guest”. The suites are furnished with a variety of clean cut furniture including contemporary designs and artwork as well as antique mirrors and Mies Van Der Rohe chairs. The furniture dresses this place with elegance, and the lighting in the suites provides coziness. Everything, including the atmosphere, is strategically designed to bring harmony to the guest staying in the suite. All the decor goes hand-in-hand, working together with the architecture. |
| Take a break from standard hotels and enjoy the perks of having a kitchen, a living room, a garden, a fireplace and more commodities that usually hotels tend to avoid. Relax and enjoy your retreat at Riva Lofts. |

With ridiculously good and cheap Sandwich Cookies, Butterscotch Pecan Bars and more, the truck is usually parked around the Flatiron District between Tuesdays and Sundays once or twice a week. This is the one place where the sweets are actually not so much of a guilty pleasure especially here in the city where everything is so pricey; affordable yet of satisfying quality and quantity. The staff is also warm and friendly, offering free samples that are hard to say no to! |
| Location updates for the truck can be see on their Twitter (@TheTreatsTruck). Also, for those who want to enjoy the sweets in a comfortable setting, the truck also has a brick location called The Treats Truck Stop in Brooklyn! |
